Mindanao Journal of Tropical Medicine and Public Health is the official research journal of the College of Medicine of Jose Maria College Foundation, Inc. (JMCFI) , located in Davao City, Philippines. The journal serves as a premier platform for the dissemination of scientific knowledge and research findings in the fields of tropical medicine and public health, with a particular focus on the unique health challenges and opportunities in Mindanao and the broader Southeast Asian region.
Focus and Scope
The Mindanao Journal of Tropical Medicine and Public Health publishes original research articles, review articles, case reports, brief communications, and letters to the editor that address a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

· Parasitology and vector-borne diseases
· Emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases

Publication Frequency
The journal is published annually, releasing issues in December yearly.
Peer Review Process
The Mindanao Journal of Tropical Medicine and Public Health employs a double-blind peer review process to ensure the highest standards of academic integrity and quality. All submitted manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening, followed by evaluation by at least two independent expert reviewers in the relevant field. The review process is guided by the principles of confidentiality, objectivity, and constructive feedback.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles published in the journal are freely accessible online, without subscription or payment barriers, in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) declaration.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
As of the moment, the journal does not charge article processing fees.
Journal History
The Mindanao Journal of Tropical Medicine and Public Health is established beginning year 2026 as the official research publication of the College of Medicine of Jose Maria College Foundation, Inc. The journal was created to address the growing need for a dedicated regional publication that focuses on tropical medicine and public health issues specific to Mindanao, while also contributing to the global body of knowledge in these fields.
The College of Medicine, established as the third medical school in the Davao Region, designed its medical curriculum with Mindanao's 30 million people in mind, reflecting their unique health and socio-cultural environment. The journal extends this commitment by providing a scholarly outlet for research that addresses the region's most pressing health concerns.
