Author Guidelines

The Nursing Sciences, Education and Practice Journal welcomes submissions of original research articles, theoretical papers, literature reviews, case studies, evidence-based practice projects, and interdisciplinary research in the field of nursing and the health sciences. To ensure a smooth and efficient review and publication process, authors are required to adhere to the following guidelines when preparing their manuscripts. All submissions must follow the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th edition format.

1. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the Nursing Sciences, Education and Practice Journal submission portal.

  • All submissions should be in English and formatted according to the APA 7th edition guidelines.

  • Authors must ensure that their manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

2. Manuscript Preparation

2.1. General Formatting

  • Document Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

  • Page Layout: Manuscripts should be prepared in a single-column format.

  • Font: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font.

  • Margins: Set margins to 1 inch on all sides.

  • Line Spacing: Use double line spacing throughout the manuscript.

  • Page Numbers: Include page numbers in the upper right corner of each page.

2.2. Structure of Manuscript

  • Title Page: The title page should include the title of the manuscript, author(s) name(s), affiliations, and contact information. The corresponding author should be clearly identified.

  • Abstract: Provide an abstract of 150-250 words that summarizes the research objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions.

  • Keywords: Include 3-5 keywords that accurately represent the content of the manuscript.

  • Main Text: The main text should be structured with the following sections: Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion. For literature reviews and theoretical papers, alternative section headings may be used as appropriate. Subheadings may be used to organize the content within each section.

  • References: List all references cited in the manuscript in accordance with the APA citation format.

3. Citation and References

3.1. APA Citation Format

  • In-text Citations: In-text citations should follow the author-date method, e.g., (Smith, 2020) or (Smith & Jones, 2019).

  • Reference List: All references should be listed at the end of the manuscript in alphabetical order.

3.2. Examples of Common Citation Formats

  • Journal Articles:

  • Books:

    Author, A. A. (Year). Title of the chapter. In E. E. Editor (Ed.), Title of the book (pp. xx-xx). Publisher.
    Example:
    Davis, K. (2018). Evidence-based practice in critical care. In R. Green (Ed.), Advances in nursing research (pp. 45-67). Sage.

  • Conference Papers:
    Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Year, Month). Title of the paper. In E. E. Chairperson (Chair), Title of Symposium. Symposium conducted at the meeting of Organization Name, Location.
    Example:
    Miller, T., & Lee, J. (2019, June). Innovative strategies in nursing education. In R. Taylor (Chair), Nursing education and leadership. Symposium conducted at the International Conference on Nursing Studies, Boston, MA.

  • Websites:
    Author, A. A. (Year, Month Day). Title of webpage. Website Name. URL
    Example:
    World Health Organization. (2021, July 13). Nursing and midwifery. WHO. https://www.who.int/health-topics/nursing

4. Figures and Tables

  • Figures: Figures should be numbered sequentially (e.g., Figure 1, Figure 2) and have a clear and concise caption. All figures must be referenced in the text and must comply with APA guidelines for figure presentation.

  • Tables: Tables should be numbered sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Table 2) and include a descriptive title. All tables must be referenced in the text and must comply with APA guidelines for table presentation.

5. Peer Review Process

  • All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.

  • Authors will receive feedback from reviewers, and revisions may be required before final acceptance.

  • The review process typically takes 6-8 weeks.

6. Copyright and Permissions

  • Authors must sign a copyright transfer agreement upon acceptance of their manuscript.

  • The Nursing Sciences, Education and Practice Journal publishes articles under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, which allows for sharing and adaptation of the work, provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors.

7. Ethics and Integrity

  • The Nursing Sciences, Education and Practice Journal adheres to strict ethical guidelines to ensure the integrity of the research we publish.

  • Plagiarism, data fabrication, and other forms of academic misconduct are not tolerated.

  • Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest and, where applicable, provide documentation of ethical approval from an institutional review board for studies involving human participants.
